Serving Our Community
Apr 28, 2020 | 1 MIN READAs the COVID-19 Pandemic continues to disrupt day-to-day life, ELCO is trying to do its part for our community. We donated $5,000 in March to the Northern Illinois Food Pantry which provides food through a network of 800 food pantries, soup kitchens, and youth and senior centers to assist our hungry neighbors.
ELCO was also recently contacted by The Lake County Boys and Girls Club, requesting help during this trying time, and upon further research, we were happy to add them to the list of organizations we are proud to contribute to during these trying times. Due to school being cancelled, they are assisting in providing supplemental meals for children who normally depend on school supplied meals. The Club is also providing a safe place for childcare for first responders, medical workers and/or essential staff. In addition, they are helping to provide digital resources to assist children with their learning.
We are humbled and grateful that we are able to help these organizations whose outreach is necessary for the well-being of our community. A special thank you to our executive management who have been so willing to help fulfill their needs during this pandemic.
